Meet Amanda
M.A., Registered Psychologist
I have been working in the field of psychology since 2005. I completed my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at The Kings University College, and my Masters of Counselling at Trinity Western University in 2011, and am currently a Registered Psychologist in the Province of Alberta.
My passion is in helping children and adults, who have suffered from relational and situational trauma to regain their identity, discover freedom, heal past hurts, and recognize the possibilities of the future. I have worked in the Mental Health field and have developed an additional desire to counsel children and adolescents as I believe that early intervention is beneficial for emotional well-being. However, I believe that counselling at any stage of life can impact ones wellness.
My main concern is to provide a safe place supplemented with competent, compassionate care to assist individuals in working towards their goals. I utilize an integrated framework, which draws from attachment, psychodynamic, gestalt, trauma-processing, and cognitive behavioural therapies. I have training in Art and Play therapy modalities. I am also trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, which is a highly effective trauma treatment. For more information on EMDR please visit emdrcanada.org.
I provide services for children, adolescents, adults, and First Responders.
