Meet Tomiwa Arogundade

MC, Registered Provisional Psychologist

Hi there! I'm Tomiwa (TAW-ME-WAH), a Registered Provisional Psychologist committed to providing compassionate and effective therapy. My work with clients is grounded in the belief that therapy should be a collaborative and empowering process. I strive to create a safe and supportive environment in which clients can explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and work towards meaningful change.

I have worked within addiction and mental health for over eight years, and I draw from a range of evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Somatic Experiencing (SE), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), Gottman's method for couples therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I am passionate about supporting couples, and helping individuals navigate life transitions, religious trauma, relational concerns, burnout, shame, gender/sexuality, and racial identity.

As a BIPOC therapist, I am committed to providing therapy that is culturally sensitive, LGBTQ+ affirming, trauma-informed, and that acknowledges and addresses the ways in which systemic oppression and discrimination can impact mental health. I strive to create a space in which clients from all backgrounds feel seen, heard, and valued. I would be honored to help you achieve your therapeutic goals and create meaningful change.
Outside of work and studies, you will likely find me trying a new restaurant with friends, on my couch utilizing all the streaming services, taking a fitness class, or travelling.
